Volunteers

The Resource Centre has a team of 20 volunteers of varying educational levels who make a significant contribution to the development of the Centre by their skills and knowledge.

The volunteers are involved as lecturers in all the courses, as workshop leaders, as personal assistants to the beneficiaries of our services and where required by the editorial staff of our magazine Linker. They also take the leading role in public campaigns, distribution of Resource Centre promotional material, as well as in the activities of disabled persons’ organisations that we support. A team of two voluntary lawyers provide legal advice to our clients.

Every volunteer goes through a training course in the fundamentals of disability and in volunteer management. Depending upon their individual preferences we organise training courses on other subjects such as: fundamentals of mental impairment, project proposal writing, public relations, campaigning, non-violent communication etc.

Voluntary work entails 3 to 5 hours work per week.
