Voluntary service and logistical support

Besides education, the opportunity to search (the Computer Centre) and to receive (the Information Centre) information, a very important part of RC PWD activities, aims to support people with physical and learning disabilities as well as their family members through voluntary services. These activities are as follows:

  • Needs assessment of beneficiaries and organizations;

  • Inclusion of new beneficiaries and volunteers in further activities of RC PWD’s;

  • Recording and updating of database containing information about beneficiaries and organizations/institutions important for PWD’s;

  • Coordination and supervision of voluntary work; and

  • Free of charge driving services in specialized vehicle with hydraulic elevator.

Thanks to these activities, our beneficiaries have the opportunity to visit the Centre every day and also to participate in further RC PWD plans. The Centre values volunteerism as a means of civil engagement. Volunteers, who are in direct contact with beneficiaries, besides being trained to work with PWD’s, undergo a continuous process of supervision by experienced volunteers. The number of beneficiaries is increasing daily, and for this reason it is very important to continually record and update the database. The content of the database containing beneficiaries’ personal information is available only to persons involved in its creation and to project staff. All data from this database is strictly confidential.
