During 2004 and 2005 the Resource Centre for the disabled of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organisation provided instruction for four disabled persons who completed an advanced computer course, to prepare them to begin to work in the digital print shop, as part of the specific activities of the Centre in work-related education and employment of the disabled.
The printing house is a company founded at the initiative of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organisation. It is involved in digital printing and is part of the system for the professional rehabilitation and employment of the disabled. Thanks to the support of the Provincial Secretariat for Work, Employment and Gender Equality, two people are now employed in the “Eho-Print” digital print room. The company was incorporated with the support of USAID within the CRDA program as implemented by the American Development Foundation (ADF).
As the work expands an increase in the number of employees in the company is to be expected. The printing house is able to produce: samples, flyers, prospects, catalogues, brochures, one-off calendars, pocket calendars, digital reproductions, invitations, adhesive labels, graphical standards books, greetings cards, picture postcards, digital photographs, business cards, ID cards, DVD, CD and VHS covers, periodicals, posters, wine lists, menus, reservations, memoranda etc. Apart from these services, the press is also able to offer plotter printing services.
Thanks to a donation from IAN (International Aid Network) The Resource Centre for the Disabled extended its range of activity in August 2007 to SITO printing. The printing house is intended for training of PWD`s. This activity also forms part of the Centre’s activities in work-related education and employment of the disabled.
